INCESANTE / MENTE (2024)
8mm filmpoem with sound, 3:48 mins
A poem by Henri Michaux is read out loud to a friend. Incessantly, in the shadow of myth, of archetype, of mind. Statues wake up. Poem in a mirror, streams of consciousness, streams of echo, dust of film-light.

Tepalcates (2021)
video with sound, 3:35min
A record of a performance-ritual in the ruins of Huamelulpan. The artist follows an archaeological score drawn by her aunt in 1975, transcribing the bits and pieces of tepalcates (clay-junk) scraping the ruins and transforming memory into simple sounds of friction. This video is a continuation of her long-poem and investigative project The Telaraña Circuit, blurring the line between autonomous works and an ongoing, object-oriented performance.
Filmed by Diego Gerard Morrison in San Martín Huamelulpan, Mixteca Alta, Oaxaca.
archivo : aerolito (2021 - 2024)
16mm and found footage with sound, 2:49 mins
Maria Sabina said "language emerges from the earth," an archive that reappears and belongs to the deeper layers of time. This film is an ongoing work that mixes the artist’s own personal story and family archive, where after many years, she rediscovered a 16mm short documentary shot in the 70s by her father, José Antonio Hinojosa that explored the ceremonial culture around mushrooms in Huautla de Jiménez, the birthplace of Maria Sabina. This work is an ode to Sabina's wisdom as a poet and medicine woman, and a celebration of the alchemy present in film, fungi and the deep archive of language.
Acción fértil (2018)
video with sound, 3:17mins
Acción fértil (Fertile Action) is a research-based project composed of site-specific installations and ephemeral gestures. The project unearths different voices that reveal conceptual, social and religious tensions, which reflect the mythological memory of a micro-geography: a natural pond in the Pueblo de La Candelaria of Santa Cruz in the outskirts of Mexico City. Concerned with a local issue regarding the crises of water in La Candelaria, Acción Fértil addresses a universal problem: the individual’s relationship to water and knowledge today.
